HUMA ELEVEN celebrates its expansion to 50,000 m²

State-of-the-art shopping center with trans-regional appeal

HUMA ELEVEN opens its extension in Vienna-Simmering on Thursday, September 28th. Around 90 shops, catering, and service companies offer everything for a perfect shopping experience on a total of 50,000 m². The 6,000-m² Fashion Park Röther is the largest multi-brand fashion store ever opened in a shopping center in Vienna. Other newcomers include TK Maxx, Müller, and Humanic. On top of the new stores, the focus of Vienna’s most modern shopping center is customer service. In addition to seasonally changing pop-up stores, the expansion also includes a free bus service to HUMA ELEVEN, state-of-the-art charging points for electric vehicles, and a practical home delivery service. Operator SES Spar European Shopping Centers and the Jost Hurler Group are pleased to have created 800 jobs at the Simmering site. The investment reached a 9-digit sum in euros.

HUMA ELEVEN in Vienna-Simmering is located at a traditional trading location. The catchment area extends beyond the populations of Simmering and the city of Vienna to include much of Lower Austria and northern Burgenland. In addition to existing municipal bus lines, HUMA ELEVEN has created a free direct bus from the U3 “Simmering” subway station and the HUMA ELEVEN bus goes directly to HUMA ELEVEN from Schwechat every 30 minutes during the opening hours.

Wild: “Traditional business location gets modernity and diversity”

The shopping center market in Austria is generally saturated and developers are relying on qualitative relaunches more than ever before. According to “Standort + Markt,” new area of only 30,000 to 40,000 m² is to be expected for 2017. 20,000 m²—i.e. more than half—of that space are attributable to the HUMA ELEVEN expansion: the center has grown from 30,000 to 50,000 m². This makes Marcus Wild, CEO of SES Spar European Shopping Centers, proud: “The HUMA ELEVEN enlargement is the most exciting shopping center opening of the year—not only for us, but for the entire industry. The project team has done a fantastic job, not only adding modernity and diversity, but also a special feel-good atmosphere and generosity, to the traditional business location,” says Wild. Chapman Taylor was responsible for the architectural design.

Nine-digit investment

HUMA ELEVEN is operated by SES Spar European Shopping Centers, the Austrian market leader in the shopping center sector. The owner is Munich’s Jost Hurler Group. The management spokesman Wolfgang Müller is very satisfied with the development: “We are very pleased to see how the well-established shopping park in Simmering has turned into Vienna’s most modern shopping center. In total, the Jost Hurler Group invested a nine-digit euro sum in the new building and expansion of HUMA ELEVEN.”

90 shops, including new arrivals Modepark Röther and TK Maxx

On September 28th, 2017, the number of shops will increase to around 90. The existing visitor magnets INTERSPAR, Media Markt, H&M, and an extensive range of catering services will now be joined by TK Maxx, Europe’s leading off-price company for fashion and home accessories, which is opening its third location in HUMA ELEVEN in Vienna. Modepark Röther, a family-run business from Germany, is celebrating the opening of its premiere multi-brand label store in Vienna. No other shopping center in the Federal Capital features such a large multi-brand store: Modepark Röther offers more than 300 brands on over 6,000 m²—from Comma to Tally Weijl, Vero Moda, Camp David, and Hugo Boss.

Customers excited for opening of visitor magnet Müller Drogeriemarkt

Customers of the drugstore chain Müller are waiting with bated breath. The German company offers one of the largest drugstore ranges in Austria, with a comprehensive selection of perfumery, stationery, toys, and multimedia items. Other newcomers include one of the first OVS fashion stores from Italy, along with the labels KULT and Colloseum. Shoe fans are looking forward to Humanic and MyShoes.

Focus on service, with electric vehicle charging stations and home delivery service

In addition to the two new, free, direct bus connections, which depart every 30 minutes from the U3 station Simmering or Schwechat and drive directly to HUMA ELEVEN, there is also the following customer service: 10 electric vehicle charging stations are located in the parking lots. “Sustainability is a particular concern for us,” explains Center Manager Stephan Kalteis. “Our new vehicle charging stations are the perfect complement to the existing 2,000 free parking spaces around the building.” HUMA ELEVEN customers who do not come by car can benefit from the new home delivery service provided in cooperation with Veloce. If you want to have your purchases shipped easily and conveniently, simply contact the center information service.

Already over 30,000 children at Planet Lollipop

Comfortable family shopping has already established itself at HUMA ELEVEN. The lovingly designed children’s world of “Planet Lollipop” has already counted over 30,000 visitors since its opening in March 2016. Children have already celebrated well over 1,000 parties in its three party rooms. The “Mini Lollipop” game island right inside the shopping mall is exactly tailored to the needs of children under four years of age and is therefore extremely popular. Regular children’s events and weekly puppet shows make HUMA ELEVEN the number one meeting place for many families.

Event & promotional areas for seasonal pop-up stores

HUMA ELEVEN has several hundred square meters of flexible spaces in the mall. They serve the center as event areas or feature seasonal designs. In addition, HUMA ELEVEN continually presents new pop-up stores.

Meeting spot in the Simmering district

HUMA ELEVEN’s unique architecture, with natural materials and plenty of daylight, make it a feel-good shopping center. The largest indoor water feature in any Austrian shopping center also contributes to this. “HUMA ELEVEN has established itself as a popular meeting spot in Simmering, if not a landmark, since the new building opened,” confirms Paul Stadler, District Manager for Vienna-Simmering.

Opening offers, daydreamers, and Vanessa Mai

HUMA ELEVEN’s extension to 50,000 m² will be celebrated for three days: All shops are participating and offer special promotions or discounts from Thursday the 28th to Saturday the 30th of September. The red-white-red star act Tagträumer and Schlager star Vanessa Mai are on the program as entertainment for the entire family. To top it all off, HUMA ELEVEN is hosting its biggest raffle ever: a brand-new Hyundai i10 will be given as the main prize.
